WHAT IS ROSACEA?
Rosacea is a skin condition that primarily effects the facial skin. It causes redness on the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. Over a period of time the redness can become more intense leading to a red, flushed appearance. It also leads to blood vessels close to the skins surface become dilated and more visible.

VISIBLE BLOOD VESSELS
A common symptom is visible blood vessels which can appear on the nose, cheeks and forehead.

One of the most common signs and may resemble a blush that doesn’t tend to go away.
FLUSHING
Can be quite frequent and accompanied by a sense of warmth of the skin that comes and goes with the skin disorder.
PIMPLES
Small raised bumps that are red and often develop with Rosacea. Not to be mistaken for acne or treated the same.
BURNING OR STINGING
A Burning or stinging sensation may develop on the face with a feeling of tightness and itchiness.
DRY SKIN

CARING FOR ROSACEA - SKINCARE TIPS
1. Avoid using hot water (including saunas, hot baths and showers) as this can aggravate the condition and cause skin to become flushed.
2. Wear a natural sunscreen to protect the skin from sun exposure all year round.
3. Try to keep the skin cool by working in an air conditioned environment or apply a Natural Facial Mist through the day to maintain a cool temperature.
4. Avoid face cloths, sponges or any harsh accessories on the skin.
5. Follow a gentle, daily skincare routine.
6. Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated.
BE CARFUL OF WHAT PRODUCTS YOU USE
Always ensure your skincare products are suitable for Rosacea. Many skincare products contain harsh ingredients that strip the skin and can make the condition much worse.
Avoid skincare containing Fragrances and Alcohols ethic alcohol/ethanol) which can be a trigger and aggravate Rosacea.
Don’t use products suitable for acne as this condition should follow a different skincare treatment. Often including more stronger, antibacterial ingredients that are not suitable for skin sensitivities. Even natural ingredient can be too harsh for looking after Rosacea.
SIMPLE SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR ROSACEA
Cleanse - Start the day by cleansing the skin with a natural, gentle cleanser that doesn’t contain any harsh alcohols or fragrances. Rinse the face with warm water and gently pat skin dry.
Moisturise - Apply a gentle Moisturiser immediately after cleansing. This helps to lock moisture into the skin and help to eliminate dryness. Moisturising also helps to calm, nourish and protect the skin through the day.
Sun-Protection - Always apply an SPF to protect the skin from exposure. This also slows down the ageing process which leads to fine lines and wrinkles.
BEST PRODUCTS FOR ROSACEA
We recommend using natural, fragrance free products that are specifically formulated for sensitive skin. These are far less likely to cause irritation or flare-ups.
Look for skincare with natural, active ingredients that are gentle such as Chamomile, Rosehip, Aloe Vera which help to calm and protect the skin whilst providing nourishment.
Always patch test a product first to ensure it suits your skin. To save spending lots of money a product that may not suit your skin, always request a sample to try.
